This post is out of order. I was trying to do things chronologically, but we'll get back to Christmas after I post the most beautiful bathroom in our house's transformation. I still smile every time I walk by it. I guess I am still expecting it to look the way it used to. So here we go:
There are many things wrong with this picture. This bathroom has just not been loved. I mean, the yellow paint is just barely a color and with the off-white trim, it just looks dingy. Then you have the little white cabinet that sticks really far into the room and I have hated since we moved in (2.5 yrs) and never done anything about. Also, it is empty. I refuse to put things in it out of principle. Umm... then there's the light and the blah mirror.
So, builder grade cabinets. I have no complaints about them except they are a little boring and the color is outdated. Good foundation to start with though.
I used some liquid sander and got these things ready to go in no time. The I just painted them House Brown from Valspar and added some Floetrol to the paint which says it slows drying time to reduce brush strokes.
And oh boy does it ever!
The paint still seemed to dry fast, but there are NO brush strokes and I wasn't trying all that hard to get rid of them.
Mid-remodel
And we're done!
The walls are now a lovely blue. I have a fabulous light blue bathroom with a beautiful framed mirror (same mirror, we just added trim. Love it!), a custom towel bar thanks to Jared and his handy way with tools, a brand new light fixture, and fabulous vanity cabinets that make this bathroom look like someone loves it!
The same shower curtain that somehow looks nicer now.
Say it with me now:
EWWWWW....
And:
AHHHHH!
