We went camping at the North Rim of the Grand Canyon this last weekend with some of Jared's co-workers. It was kinda cold at night, but the days were perfect. It was a lot of fun. It was Lucas' first campout and he seemed to enjoy himself.

Lucas had a good time, especially when all the little girls were gathered around to admire him.

Look at the canyon stretch off into the distance.

Lucas liked sharing a sleeping bag with mommy. He liked the tent a lot too.

The hole in the middle of the wall is called Angel's Window. You can see the Colorado River through it. You can also walk on top of it, which we did after we took this picture. It was a great view.

Lucas doesn't really like his carseat, but when we opened the car door, this is what we found. Our good little traveler.

In honor of Jesse.

The best part of the campout is that the men did all of the cooking. I mean, all of the cooking. It was fantastic and the food was SO good.

Lucas' cute warm clothes.

We decided to let Lucas drive home. He didn't mind taking a turn behind the wheel.

So, Lucas hasn't learned to crawl yet, but he is more mobile than he used to be. He can now roll continuously to get places, but he doesn't really try to get to stuff that often. However, yesterday he was playing on the floor and I went to switch the laundry. When I came back, he had moved about 2 feet and gotten into a pile of papers I had left on the floor. He ate this one (I already tried to smooth it out) and he was really proud of himself.

Rolling around

Last night he didn't want to go to sleep, so we put him on the floor to play a little. He got really quiet, so neither of us noticed for a bit, but when Jared found him, he had played himself to sleep.

This is the video of him rolling the other way. It was hard to get because as soon as I put him on his back, he's already back on his stomach.
