Valley of Fire

For Memorial Day weekend, we decided to head to the Valley of Fire to take a look around. It was pretty hot outside, but Lucas and Jared are always willing to explore and climb around.
Lucas wanted to get into just about every hole he saw, and he wanted daddy to go with him.

All happy in his hole.

They couldn't fit in this hole, but they had to look in it.
Lucas showing me something. It was more rocks. He likes rocks.Daddy did a little climbing of his own.
My explorers.
Lucas insisted on sliding down this rock. It's sandstone. It didn't slide well. But he was really proud of himself.
They are higher than they look. But I was trying to get a picture of how happy they are.

Sitting with Mommy for a rare still minute.
There were really old petroglyphs high up on some of the rocks.

Posing in front of the elephant rock. See it?

Fire Station Trip

Lucas got to go to the fire station with a bunch of kids from church. He was pretty unsure about it at the time, but he seemed interested and then when we got home, it was all he could talk about for days.
On the front of the truck with his friends.
Sporting his hat and badge by the truck.

Look how big that tire is!
Getting out of the truck after looking around inside.
Looking at all the stuff the fireman need and keep inside the truck.
In the garage getting ready to look around.

Arizona, Birthday, and Cookies

We went to Arizona for Jared's annual company retreat. I didn't take a lot of pictures, bu these two in the pool were really cute. Lucas likes swimming with Daddy.

I made Jared a cheesecake for his birthday and decorated it with cool whip. When I was finished, I turned around to put some things in the sink. I went back to put everything I was done with in the fridge and I couldn't figure out what was missing. Someone had decided to just walk away with the whole container of cool whip and a spoon. He just went and sat in his favorite chair in front of the TV. It was pretty funny.Jared's birthday. Lucas was very interested in the presents. Jared wasn't opening them fast enough for him, as you can see by him looking so sadly at the present he wants daddy to open.

Lucas LOVES birthdays. He thinks "happy birthday" is just a nice thing to say to people. He also LOVES singing the song and blowing out candles. So here he is honing in on Daddy's cake.

Lucas and daddy made sugar cookies. Lucas likes the mixer a lot.

He also really liked cutting the shapes. He was also a fan of the sprinkles and wanted to eat them straight. He cried when we tried to show them that he could put them on the cookies.

Here he's a little blurry, but happy we're leaving the sprinkles alone now.

Missouri Trip from April

Back in the middle of April Lucas and I got to go to Missouri to visit my family.
My computer has been a little sad since then, so I am just now getting to posting the pictures, but if I don't do it now, I may never get to it!

Lucas decided that he needed to wear one of his grandpa's shirts. Here he is sporting his "geen" (read: blankie) around his neck, grandpa's shirt, and two wii controllers.

Aunt En (read: Erin) and Lucas had a really good time sneaking up on grandpa to scare him.
(sorry they are blurry, I think I need to adjust a camera setting or something)
They got him!
They played a lot, and Lucas LOVES hiding.I was trying to get a picture of Lucas with all of his aunts. This was the best shot I got. His eyes are closed, but they all look happy!
Playing with Aunt Lolo (and Rex on the bottom)
At the airport trying to say goodbye to Gogo
Here he realized I meant it, that we were actually saying goodbye.
Posing with Grandpa

One last shot!

Thanks for all the fun guys!
